29,000 young people face homelessness this winter

Christmas sees many of us cosied up in the comfort of our own homes, yet that couldn’t be further from the truth for the thousands of young people in the UK facing homelessness.

Working with our friends at red and their charity client Centrepoint, we helped raise awareness of the 29,000 young people who could spend this Christmas without a home; with some forced to sleep in parks, empty properties or even public toilets because they’ve nowhere else to go.

Calls to Centrepoint’s Helpline have increased by 33% and the charity is predicting the highest levels of youth homelessness this winter since 2016.

Olympian and former Centrepoint resident, Jade Johnson, who experienced homelessness at just 17, was a superb case-study, interviewed by C4 News, ITV News, 5 News, Sky News TV and a whole raft of regional broadcasters.

The Media Tour was also jam-packed for Paul Brocklehurst, Senior Helpline Manager at Centrepoint who passionately conveyed the stark reality facing so many.
